Karma: 1 Last Autumn « Thread Started on Dec 4, 2007, 9:34pm » Soft, ivory feathers skimmed the surface of the water of the small creek, creating ripples and waves that vibrated to the creek's banks to eagerly end their short-lived lives. The annual autumn winds swept the grasses within the vicinity's dipped terrain, cooling the air and forcing the scent of a coming winter upon the breathing. The stallion closed his sapphire eyes as the cool wind took a blow to his cranial, sending shivers down his neck and mid-quarters. It was mid-afternoon and though the wind was signaling a winter right around the corner, the heat of the sun brought thoughts of summer to mind. The grass was browning and the different types of trees that surrounded the valley were starting to change into the beautiful colors that let the world know it's autumn. The ivory brute halted at near the center of the valley and bent himself down to graze for a few moments. It wouldn't be long before snow covered these lush grasses and this Alir stallion had no intention of letting his share of food go to waste. The skies were starting to cloud, signaling that one of the last rains of the year would arrive soon. Taking his fill of grass, the brute pondered more on the subject if changing seasons as the wind, coupled with the sun's heat, swept gently over him. He noted the scent of the air and the feel of the plants below him, for who knows when their last autumn will be? ooc: Don't be fooled by the title.
